Chimera Casting came about in July of 2007 in Mumbai, India.

Avani stumbled onto casting by chance. Working as a production coordinator on an indie film, she was asked to assist the director with the film’s casting. The film ended up starring an ensemble of some of the most stellar actors in Indian film. And for Avani, she knew this was what she wanted to do.

She soon after embarked on her casting career that has organically traversed between advertising & film. 17 years down, she now lives in NYC with her family and continues to facilitate effective talent relationships across borders for a variety of projects, with a special focus on diversity casting & authentic ethnic representation, providing her unique perspective to casting, having lived and worked across four continents.

Avani also mentors young acting talent and regularly conducts workshops for actors discussing how tapping into their inner wisdom can help them enhance and enjoy their craft even more and find their ‘zen’ in this demanding career. Through this, she shares her love for wisdom & consciousness and gives back to the community that she has been part of for most of her professional years.
