Avani’s Adda is a monthly creative networking gathering for film, theater, television, and performing arts professionals in New York City, as well as visiting artists from around the world.
The word “Adda” comes from Hindi and describes a gathering place where peoplecome together to share stories, exchange ideas, spark conversations, and simply enjoy each other’s company. True to its name, Avani’s Adda is a welcoming space where artists connect, collaborate, and build meaningful relationships.
Each month, we bring together a diverse community of creatives for an evening of exploration and inspiration. From readings of in-development plays, screenplays, and writing excerpts to comedy nights, performances, and open-stage showcases, every gathering celebrates creativity in all its forms.
Avani’s Adda provides a supportive, judgment-free environment where artists can share works in progress, receive thoughtful feedback from fellow professionals, and experiment with new ideas. It is a place to take creative risks, discover new perspectives, and grow alongside a community that understands the artistic journey.
Beyond the work, the Adda is about connection — reconnecting with old friends, meeting new collaborators, sharing experiences, and celebrating the passion that brings us all together.
Avani’s Adda is more than an event; it is a creative home for artists — a space for conversation, inspiration, collaboration, and lasting community.
